Steps to remove a printer:
If you no longer use a printer, or if you want to reinstall a printer, you can just delete it from your list of available printers.
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners.
- Select the printer in the list, then click Remove "-" below the list.
Steps to add a printer:
Launch System Preferences, click the Printers & Scanners icon.
You can open System Preferences from the app menu, or launch it from the Applications folder, Dock (looks like gears), or Launchpad.
SEE IMAGE ABOVE.
- If your printer isn’t in the list at this point, click the + button at the bottom of the Printers list and either select it from the list of nearby printers or choose Add Other Printer or Scanner. If you are on the wireless network, select a printer that is on your network. Look for the "@" symbol and choose a printer on the "Faculty WiFi" or the "Student WiFi" depending on the network you most often print from.
Here is a partial list of printers that are available. Some offerings differ depending on what network you are connected to.
Select the printer you want as your default when you print documents from the Default Printer pop-up menu near the bottom of the window.
Select the default paper size you want to use with this printer from the Default Paper Size menu (usually us Letter if you live in the United States).
That’s all there is to it. Close System Preferences, and you’re ready to print your first document! Before you do, however, make sure you have the document set up to look just the way you want it to look printed.
When you add a printer over the wireless network it will be dependent on the network you are connected to. You cannot print to a printer on SCDS Student when connected to SCDS Faculty and vise versa.
Some printers around campus are setup to print Duplex by default. For example, the Matthews Copier is set to print on both sides of every page.
