Student iPads provided by SCDS are purchased through a lease agreement with Apple Inc. The lease states that all repairs are to be completed by Apple Inc. to maintain the warranty.
Many 3rd party shops are not Apple Certified and therefore do not use original manufacturer parts. SCDS has Apple trained technicians on-site to aid in repairs.
It should be noted that Apple does not authorize SCDS or the Apple Store to do actual "repairs" on iPads. A "repair" or an iPad at Apple means Apple takes the broken device into their stock and reconditions it for another person. Apple will replace the device with a previously reconditioned device so that the turn around it as quick as possible.
Any information that is not backed up on the device at the time of repair will be lost.
